Potato puree
(Mashed potato)
Mashed potato is a dish prepared by mashing boiled potatoes.
Recipes started appearing no later than 1747. Creamy and nutritious is the ideal
match with the sausage in the cold winter months. And adores the kids
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of
white potatoes mealy
- 30 ml of
fresh milk
- 80 g
butter
- A pinch of
salt
- A
sprinkling of nutmeg
Preparation:
Wash the
potatoes under running water and boil them with their skins in salted water for
about 40-45 minutes depending on the size. Once cooked, drain and peel while
still hot, then mash the potato masher in a nonstick skillet over low heat, add
some grated nutmeg, salt and stir. Add the butter and stir again until the
butter will not be distributed evenly.
Gradually
add the hot milk until you have a puree smooth and homogeneous; do not overdo
it with milk otherwise it will be too liquid. Serve hot.
