CHEESECAKE

CHEESECAKE

The cheesecake is a typical dessert of the American tradition prepared with a delicious cream cheese.
Its origins, however, are very old and date back to ancient Greece; here the first trace of cheesecake which we have information, dates back to 776 BC the island of Delos, Greece, as a dessert served to the athletes during the first Olympic Games of the story for a full of energy! In Europe, however, the cheesecake was brought and handed down by the Romans. In 1872, an American dairyman, James L. Kraft, in an attempt to create the French cheese Neufchatel, invented the pasteurized fresh cheese which then called Philadelphia, and in 1880 began the widespread use of this product and its use for the preparation of modern cheesecake.
Today, the best cheesecake producers, according to submissions by the Americans themselves, are in New York so if you find yourself in this charming city, not to give up trying a piece.
There are many variants, according to our tastes: cherry, lemon, coffee, strawberry, chocolate even green tea!
The recipe that I offer provides a base formed from crushed biscuits, digestive type, with the addition of butter and brown sugar and put a cake pan. The filling of cheese instead we suggest you make by mixing the ricotta with the Philadelphia to which you will add the softened gelatin, syrup of cherries and pitted cherries.
Pour the mixture into the pan above the base of the pan biscuits put in the refrigerator for about 2 hours so that the cream will solidifies.
Now you can enjoy your slice of cheesecake garnishing to your taste with syrup of cherries, pitted cherries and a dollop of fresh mint.
